I got a Railking Scale Conrail Dash-8, a Premier CSX auto carrier, a Premier Grand Trunk auto carrier, and a Premier The Rock gondola with coils. Got to play with them last week at my son's house in Florida. Now they're sitting at UPS and they'll be delivered to my house in Ohio Friday. I was amazed that the big auto carriers negotiated my son's O36 Fastrack loop (Sure, there's a lot of overhang, but I had always admired these cars. At home it might be better as I have O42).

Santa gave me a Lionel 1933283 BNSF ES44AC #6438 non powered engine that I put on a powered BNSF Bluetooth chassis.  The job was difficult because I had to use the powered walkway with the ditch lights, and screw the #6438 body shell to the powered walkway. The number board and cab lights switched nicely.

Merry Christmas,  John Rowlen

Some of you know that I feel blessed and honored that I was inspired to enlist in the U.S. Air Force when I was 18.  I am very proud of my 6 years of active duty.  You might not know that I am a sentimental and nostalgic guy.

My wonderful wife continues to amaze me with some of the gifts she has given me.  This is her most recent thoughtful, amazing gift.  It has my rank, dates of active duty, and duty stations assigned to.  I was in awe when I opened it.

My loving wife purchased a β€œLanguage of the Hobos β€œ quilt book about 10 years ago and the project was dormant since then until this morning! She totally kept this a surprise!

So cool Pete!...even came with a whistle?.....is that for effect, or to blow for a time out?....πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚........Pat

Pat, Good one!! The whistle was a total surprise from the fine folks at TW. I had to hide that whistle fast before my boys could unleash that thing on my wife’s ears over the next week and half before school starts back up.

Ol’ St Nick was pretty good to us this year. Received a 2023 U.P. Alco with its original box and cartons, a 204 Santa Fe Alco, a New Haven 6464 boxcar, some star cars for the layout, and a Lionel crossing signal.

wasted no time in getting them up on the layout! Was fun butchering the isolated track sections to work with my fast track to tubular track sections. Signals are kinda in a weird spot, but had no where else for em...

Not to shabby! Hope everyone had a great day with family.

Santa was good to you guys, you all got some nice stuff!!  Enjoy them.

We had conspired with Santa several weeks ago for our Christmas gift!!  We will be traveling, watching Philadelphia Flyers hockey on their west coast trip starting this weekend. San Jose, Anaheim, Los Angeles (on New Years Eve), Las Vegas and then Phoenix, where we will be joined by my son and grandson for the game and spend the weekend with my Mom.

As for trains, the Santas at JusTrains are sending me my Lionel UP excursion two car add on set next week!

A Blessed and Happy Christmas and Happy Holidays to Everyone in the OGR Universe!  I hope you’re all enjoying the Season!

I think it was the "Grinch" not Santa that stopped at our house. I put the turkey in the oven for my wife at about 6:30am,(too early in the morning),and I think I pulled a muscle in my back. Drove me crazy with pain all day and night. The wife's been cooking for 2 days and her artificial knee has been driving her to the point of tears and fears it's going to have to be replaced, again.

But the meal was great, the only thing that was tough was restraining myself from over eating. No trains. The wife says I have plenty of those and of course, the women are never wrong. Remember the old saying fellows,"Women have no faults, men have only two:everything they say and everything they do".

As always,

Al Hummel
