Before I started building my layout almost five years ago (seems like yesterday), I painted most of the walls surrounding it, but I still had two walls that were essentially unfinished, which had just the basic sky blue and a few clouds. Last week I decided to finish one of these walls as I had originally envisioned when I planned the layout, and I would like to share the results with you.

The trees are Grand Central Gems (most of my trees are) and the paints are acrylics in a tube from Hobby Lobby. For the larger painted areas I use latex paint samples from Home Depot, which come in any color you like, and cost around $3 for an 8-oz jar.

Here is a 'BEFORE' picture of the subject wall and track.

The same area AFTER I painted the wall and added tress along the track.

A few more 'AFTER' pictures:

Thank you for your time and comments.

Nice job. It gave the scene depth that just a blue sky could not take care of............Paul

You are so right! The track curve in front of the wall is over two feet away from the wall at one point, but it always looked rather flat. Now it does have some depth. That is one of my pop throughs (and hatches) that I use to access the hard to reach areas.

Thank you all for your nice comments.
