Curious if any damage occurred in the 2nd Ave subway construction zone. I never herd anything about damage other than lower Manhattan and the 69th street tunnels.

I have not heard of any storm damage to the under construction 2nd Av. subway. The water surge got as far as 1st Av. on the east side of Manhattan. The electric power was out south of 34th St. so the construction could have been delayed in the area where power was out.

Very little from what I can tell, other then probably the normal rainwater getting down into the tunnel. The reason other parts of the system got hit was flooding from the storm surge where subways were near the river, the South Ferry station was literally totally flooded by salt water, as we some of the tunnels (prob because vent shafts were near the waters edge and got flooded by a 15 foot storm surge). Among other things, electrical equipment doesn't like salt water....
The South Ferry Station on the #1 line is still out of service. Trains running to Rector street on this line
I was at Hospital for Special Surgery on E.70th St. on election day (two reasons it was among the worst days of my life) and York ave was bone dry. I saw no flooding issues that day.
