What is this mystery part ?

I think it's the frame cover from you log dump car.

It’s a frame cover from a 3459/3469 coal dump car.  Should be made out of fiberboard and not metal.

Ahh !  Yes !!  I see now that the frame cover has become detached from the dump car.  Thank you !!

Sometime past, a previous owner must have removed the frame cover, and then sat it back in place on top of the coil cover screw instead of underneath the head of the screw, resulting in its eventual detachment from the car. And Tommy is correct, it is fiber board, not metal.

Whew !!  That car was a mess !!  Parts and screws started flying everywhere !!  Previous owner(s) did a number on it for sure. I finally got it all back in place and working correctly. Another PW Treasure saved from the recycle bin.
