Honestly if someone made a Mister Rodgers trolley I would buy it in a heartbeat. I mean a good replica not a halfway close facsimile. Would be simple and cheap.
Those little MTH Alco/General Electric/Ingersoll-Rand box cabs. They haven't been re-issued and the last one that popped up on eBay went for above retail.
MTH made the GP30 and GP35 but they have put off painting and assembling the parts to make a SOO LINE version.
Lionel has had two incarnations of their GP30, but they have put off making a SOO LINE version.
Lionel has offered a model of the GP35, but they have not produced one in the SOO LINE scheme. Perhaps they need to figured out the GP35 model production problems first.
MTH has two versions of the SD45, but they have not produced either of them in the totally accurate version of the Great Northern 1967 scheme of Charcoal Gray, white, Big Sky Blue, with Charcoal Gray trucks.

Atlas O was making the GP15-1 and GP15-T in O scale, but they were unable to produce very many paint schemes and road numbers before the production was interrupted. I was hoping for a Chicago & North Western GP15-1 in Safety Yellow.

2-6-6-2 Mallets, N1,N2 or N3 would be nice. Another would be Quill electrics. Milwaukee Road of course. I hope to see Scott Mann at 3rd Rail make these some day. Sense Joe at Weaver Models through in the towel there my only hope. Hopefully I'll see these before I'm dead.
If going for new E units I would like some Orange Blossom Special please. All I can find is old PS1 units which people price too high in my opinion. Already have passenger cars ready.
Also for F units Black Widow and Blue Bonnet.
For Steam a Southern Pacific Sunbeam Streamlined Pacific.
TexasSP - Did you see these from Pats Trains? I couldn't tell it they are RK scale? May just be RK size?
Yes. But those are Black Bonnets. I want Blue.
Big four and six axle Alco C430s and C636s. Maybe a few Alco C424 and C425s too.
Any and all Texas railroads from the past.
O-Scale 2-Rail 4-4-0 like Babbit and All-Nation used to have.
Frisco 1522 and sisters.
CONSIDER: Of the great fan trip steam locomotives that have been operating or restored during our lifetimes the ones that are already out there in O Gauge.
Norfolk J - 611 (and 612) both done by MTH and Lionel. Additionally, 601, 604, 610 and 613 done in scale form by MTH with unshrouded 605 also executed by MTH and 606 by Lionel. More than half of all Js ever produced have been reproduced in die cast O scale during the last 20 years.
Union Pacific FEF-3 - 844 - fan trip, greyhound and original black (and even "Lionel Lines" tender application) versions produced by Lionel or MTH during the last 20 years with 835, 838, 839, 841, and 843 also turned out by Lionel or MTH (please give us 840 and 842 to help us fill in collection gaps)!
Union Pacific Big Boy 4014 - produced in O Scale by both MTH and Lionel along with other numbered locomotives in the class produced by both manufacturers.
Southern Pacific GS-4 4449 - produced in O Scale die cast more than once by both Lionel and MTH during the last 20 years.
Milwaukee northern no. 261 - produced by Lionel during the last 20 years.
Santa Fe northern no. 3751 - produced by Lionel during the last 20 years.
Nickel Plate and Pere Marquette Berkshires - produced by bother Lionel and MTH during the last 20 years.
Canadian Pacific Royal Hudson - produced by MTH in several road numbers/schemes during the last 20 years.
Norfolk and Western class A no. 1218 - produced by Lionel and MTH during the last 20 years with several other road numbers produced by MTH.
Frisco 1522 operated throughout the Midwest and attended many rail fair events. It is an impressive operating steam locomotive with unique styling and presentation.
Also, Burlington O5a 5632 pulled fan trips at the end of steam and should be remembered with a model - 3rd Rail has been the only manufacturer to model the Burlington O5a.
Fianally, Northern Pacific A-3, A-4 and A-5 class northerns are attractive engines deserving of production in O scale die cast.
Anything to do with the Rutland.
I notice in this thread that a lot of wishes are just different paint schemes. Why just hire a custom painter to do one for you?
GE 80-tonner (we now have beautiful 44-ton by MTH....)
GE U boats, Dash 8s and Dash 9s
New Haven 2-8-0 and 2-8-2
Shortline steamers - Mikados and Consolidations with smaller drivers
The Portland Rose posted:Frisco 1522 and sisters.
Absolutely! And this is the only locomotive that I would be picky about the sound of the whistle: hers is distinctive.
prrjim posted:I notice in this thread that a lot of wishes are just different paint schemes. Why just hire a custom painter to do one for you?
That is exactly what I do. But doing so almost doubles the cost of a Legacy diesel. And my current project of converting a pair of Legacy F3 A-units, I do expect the custom paint will cost more than I paid for the new diesels from a forum vendor.
I can think of a few for starters. A high nose Gp20, a legacy BTO 2-8-2,4-6-0 or 4-6-2 that is Road specific not a generic model for $1400! Re issue of the Sd24 in high nose version. More Santa Fe Zebra stripe diesels.
F-9s - The old Atlas 2-rail fixed pilot models can negotiate 36" Fastrack but their ladders are very brittle. Even if you convert them to 3-rail, the motor is very weak. They are becoming scarce on ebay, too.
Can we get some Seaboard Air Line Citrus Themed engines please, from the passenger line instead of all the freight.
Yes, working ones would be nice.
Its frustrating if you are an accurate modeler in 3 rail scale to see the same steamer with multiple road names slapped on it... it may some what apply for a USRA type locomotive, but that is where it ends...
I would like to see more of a focus on western roads with early style prairie, pacific, consolidation, mogul, and mikado type engines... with some thought to the road name specific details. The pilots looked so cool on the NP until the safety department put the steel channel on them!

0-4-0 Love these little GUYZ. I ran this one for a few summers. Pic of my late MOM and me.
I'll echo the sentiment of the need for better Quality Control for new locomotives. When spending $400+, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a working model out of the box.
As for specific locomotives:
- Burlington Northern F7
- Metra or MARC MP36-PH
- NCDOT F59PHI
- Amtrak Acela (I know Lionel did one a few years back, it'd be great if Mike could produce a version)
- Brightline
- UP SD70ACE-T4
TexasSP posted:Yes. But those are Black Bonnets. I want Blue.
Oops, guess I got my widows and bonnets backwards there.
I'm with Trainmstr 100%- Baldwin Baby Face units (scale)! Apparently most folks think they are ugly and manufacturers won't take the risk. Closest thing is a centipede, which technically isn't too close except for the face!
"Remember Railking? I wish Mike did" (ARTYOUNG)
I'm not into semi-scale, but I thought this line is both funny and ingenious! You go guy!

I hesitated to add this to the locomotive thread, however, a cab control car may qualify. I really think Lionel should make a new round of Amtrak Amfleet Cab Control end cars. These cars are rare and command rediculous cash ($300_$500). Original msrp was about $90. The reason these are few is that the initial HHP-8 set had a problem plagued locomotive and many of us returned the faulty locomotive and cancelled our add on cab cars. Later, Lionel produced an upgraded better HHP-8 which I bought to run with my leftover Lionel Amfleet cars. (Only the original faulty HHP-8 was returned to Lionel leaving me with cars). I managed to find a cab control car on ebay a year or so ago at msrp from a seller who had listed it moments prior to my finding it. Others around that time had just sold for WELL over $300.
Lionel really could sell another round of these and hopefully properly wire the marker lights this time.

Atlas O did not make enough of the GP15T diesel locos.
Andrew
Atlas has made the GP40-2 in HO scale, but not O scale.
Sante Fe F3's Legacy War Bonnet versions, would like a really nice version with hi grade can motors, Hi gloss Red and silver colors, authentic crew talk with authentic tower com, Powered B units and powered A units sold separately....Just Thinking...
Speaking of Atlas O GP15's... What happened to the 2016 announced production of them? I remember Mr. Muffins putting up on his website, I asked to preorder the Demo model and the price never announced and the Gp15 dropped from his website?

I forgot that Praire Locomotives existed. All those years of playing RRT2, shame on me. Here is an interesting list.
Commuter locos like the MPI MPX EXPRESS
A Williams GP30 in blue and yellow Santa Fe colors.
Lionel GP7B in blue and yellow Santa Fe colors.
Santa Fe SD26.
Santa Fe CF7
The Acela with the very long and sleek noses. I don't think I've ever seen any O models of that version.
AGHR Matt: I picked up an Alco/GE/Ingersoll boxcab at York a year ago, NIB. Couldn't resist, because I remember the original running.
It's a very nice loco. Only has one motor, because MTH needed space for the O-gauge PS2 board, so one must be careful not to overload it for long. One peculiarity is that its traction tire size is not standard and wrong number in on MTH tire list. I am surprised it wasn't reissued.
Locos in my basement!
There are not enough of the K-Line by Lionel SD70MAC/SD75i/SD75M diesel -electric locomotives. These were a very limited run item in only a few railroad names. I could only get one of the Santa Fe SD75M diesels. I was hoping for a second Santa Fe road number and a CN SD75I.
