For Christmas in 2003, My Dad got me the World of Disney Lionel 4-4-0 Starter set. (6-31947) It was my first item I got that was Lionel, No sounds but it was a beautiful set which I still own today. Lionel has not made any Disney stuff for a good 10 years, because it was possibly the end of their contract with Disney. So I was wondering if anyone wanted to see the creation of the Disneyland Railroad with Engines and cars including the Lilly Belle and The Disney world Railroad stuff. I know MTH can do customization but I had thoughts of asking for customization but I hold back. I was contemplating on making a Customization of Disneyland's C.K Holiday by MTH and a few cars, but I settled on a MTH Railking Santa Fe Ten wheeler (Proto 3.0)  a very nice engine. So does anybody want to see any Disney stuff made by MTH or Lionel. It would be cool if they made a run of some great looking Locomotives.

Tim,

It is rather doubtful that you will see anything Disney related again. It comes down to the bottom line and that thing called, Greed. Each product must be licensed separately. IMHO I doubt that you'll ever see the Polar Express again (as it was) That is why the creative folks at Lionel have found other ways around the fees. If I'm not mistaken even the colors on the original set are copyrighted.

I'd like to see more products.  The most recent freight cars (all the operating cars and/or the last hi-cubes) never had a separate engine issued to pull them as was done for the early to mid 90's set with the EP-5 or the late 70's set with the U36B.

I have a suspicion something may be in the works at Lionel, but I have no actual info.  My suspicion might be Carolwood Pacific related, but I am guessing quite a bit there.

There was a tease of an MTH engine painted in Disneyland decoration a few years back.  It was on display in the Disney Gallery when there was a train focus a few years ago.  Unfortunately it was not for sale, and never came to be.  Rumor has it these engines became the President Washington and President Lincoln repaints that MTH offered over the last few years.
