Hi Folks,

So I'm trying to wire my Fastrack switches to a Constant AC source but I'm not having any luck.  I removed the little jumper and attached a wire to Aux In and ran that to the back of the hot Auxiliary power on the back of my Lionel Trasnformer (sorry don't which model - it's a small one putting out 18 volt AC) and I got zip response - no lights, nada.  Trains run fine and when the  switches are using track power they work fine too. I confirmed there is 18v AC coming out of the Auxiliary power.  I even tried running a wire from the Auxiliary ground to the Aux And on the switch and still nothing.  I feel like there's something I am completely missing.  Can anyone give me any help?

I do have a power wire going to the center rail and another one that is connected to the inner and outer rails, if that's any help....  I'm still learning the ins and outs of running trains with DC motors with AC power.....

Thanks in advance

Roger

Highly suggest you follow the standard multi point "bulletproofing" modifications and inspection on any fastrack switch before installing.

As seen here https://ogrforum.ogaugerr.com/...1#163461606334295091

Your problem could be caused by either the folded tab electrical connections causing intermittent ground connection and that can cause spurious anti-derailing triggering. The other known thing is the metal back plate can press up into the terminal area and make contact to the terminal solder joints and cause a similar problem of the weight of the crossing engine pressing down on the switch into the table.

Folded tabs- recommend soldering all of these type of connections

I posted this topic and links, because if you have it open and inspecting for the reversed power terminal wiring, you should address the other known problems too.
