Hello all, anyone know how to wire up Standard Gauge switches to the MTH AIU??  I have 8 switches that need wired up.  Just got my AIU today.  Would like to get it all wired up.  There are 5 posts on each of my switches, 3 for controller and 2 for fixed voltage.  There is a switch for TRK or AUX power.  How do you wire them up?  Thanks, Jeff

The switch can run with track (TRK) or auxiliary (AUX) power. This has nothing to do with the AIU.

The 3 posts on the top are center common and the other 2 posts are hot and control the turnout one being open the other closed.

They wire the same to the AIU as most switches. Follow the directions for the AIU. Hint to save a little wire. Daisy chain the commons from one post to the next on the TIU and run 1 wire to track common. The other 2 wires will open and close the switch. Run wires from the TIU to each outside post of the 3 on top of the switch. The center post will be left blank because common has been established through track common. Attach to the TIU per instructions one wire to each side of the common post. The TIU acts as the controller and functions as a momentary on switch.

The controller that came with the switch can still be wired to the switch and either the TIU or Controller can be used to control the switch.

Hello, I would like to run it with AUX power.  Let me see if I got this right...The 3 posts on the top of the motor housing are: The middle one: Common Ground.  The left one: Open.  The right one: Closed.  Now, I am unclear on how to wire the TIU to the switch.  Run wires from which, the input or output channels??  Black post and red post to left and right post on the top of the switch motor housing, which one goes where??  Also, there is no wire to the Center or middle post, because it is already grounded.  I will not use the controllers.  I will look at my AIU and TIU manuals now.

AIU instructions.  All the the AIU does is create a momentary on switch. Same as touching the center post to either outside post with a screwdriver. The controller does the same thing.

All the ins can be daisy chained together and connected to track common. Run a wire connected to 1 and a 2nd wire connected to 2. 2 goes the the post that opens the switch and 1 goes to the post that closes the switch.

Don't forget click on AIU instructions.
