Woodland scenics deep pour water

Two suggestions...

1. Call Woodland Scenics...for assistance with your compatibility question.   I've found them very accommodating and friendly.

2. Use Woodland Scenics cement products (Scenic Cement, S191, Scenic Glue, S190) for retaining your ground materials.  Then, let that dry thoroughly before pouring the water...couple of days, even, depending on ambient humidity level.  Using one supplier's set of products in a situation like this would probably minimize compatibility issues.

BTW, Woodland now has an expanded line of water simulation products.  Their website has a plethora of how-to videos....23 alone related to water simulation.

Hello. A few weeks ago I "poured" my water feature with WS "Deep Pour" "MURKY". I used 5 boxes of the product and my water is only 3mm deep.

My terrain and sub-terrain was prepared using the basic foam ground covers, plaster castings  and foam rocks / walls. Everything was attached with either Elmer's white glue or matt medium, depending on the location and type of material. The rocks and the base of my water was painted with tube acrylic paints. 

Important step.....then everything was left to dry for (2) weeks, That seems extreme but that is what I did to ensure the products were completely dry. 

Another important step....once you are finished and before the "pour", you need to make sure everything is completely sealed and that are no holes, not even a pinhole for the epoxy to run thru on to the floor. You could check this by just pouring plain water in your scenic feature and look for leaks. But then, make sure all is completely dry before pouring the epoxy.

A word of caution using the Deep Pour. It is important to completely follow all the steps outlined in the directions. It will take time and I had to do it 5 times. 

A box of the product does not go very far. Use their easy calculator to determine how much epoxy you will need.

After I was finished with my pour, I took a hair dryer and used a low warm setting to "work it" over the epoxy to get a little different effect than just a smooth finish. Some of my water looks a little like a "scum" layer on top and that is perfect to achieve the look I was going for.

I also agree with KD's advice. Please look at their web site or give them a call.

That looks great! I actually got the murky as well since hobby lobby had that one on sale for 75% off so I bought the few they had. The edges of the water feature should be waterproof but I will silicone just as a precaution.

I did try contacting woodland scenics but as I figured all they said was their products aren't tested for compatibility with any others except their own.
