Yes. And no I aint telling.

Some of the things looking back on it was C R A Z Y. I will share one.

The Harpers Ferry Amtrak Station has a little subway below the tracks to a small shelter of sorts. A class mate of mine and I went under there to visit. This was before it was closed to the public.

Unfortunately for us kids a freight was westbound, making speed for the upcoming grades. Less than 10 feet away rolled the very big cars very fast. Shaking the place.

Not where you want to be.

Back in the early 70's I ordered and bought 4 SD 24s by hallmark sight unseen as familiar with hallmarks Japanese models. Little did I know these were the 1st models to be made in Korea and looked like ****. It has always made me rethink buying anything sight unseen and was a real stumbling block to my intrduction to the way Atlas O does preorder business. At least I saw one Atlas model at a show and was OK with its construction and so have become comfortable with buying sightunseen from them and them only. Got to earn ones business. Now, just wish they could get on with producing models again at the pace we were used to. AS is, it is like brass production.
