If you agree, chime in and let them know how many units you would buy!!!!!!

Indeed, if Lionel produced multiple road-numbers, I'd buy multiple units.

When Lionel produces multiple road-number diesels, they typically run a prototype road-number powered unit PLUS a fictitious road-number powered unit, and yet another fictitious road-number as a dummy unit.  In that case, I would buy all three of these.

When MTH produced their NS Heritage locomotives, they took a different approach -- offering a powered AND dummy in the same road-number, so that folks collecting ALL heritage locomotives could do so true to the prototype without spending big bucks for all powered units.  In that case, I'd probably just purchase the one powered unit and forgo the dummy.

Since they have announced that the Gantry Crane will be coming with TMCC capabilities, how about a Mi-Jack Container Lift with TMCC?!!! Talk about an easy home run. The used ones sell real quick when they pop up even if they are broken just so folks can use them as static displays. Just imagine if you could fire it up remotely! I have to stop now, I'm working myself into a frenzy!!!

Also would like to see CN Autorack in all YELLOW paint.

Amtrak Viewliners

Now that. THAT is a good idea. I still need an intermodal crane, but if Lionel would do it again this way, then that would making something already great even better!

My long-lasting request to Lionel: More Amtrak items! Still waiting for a decent scale Amtrak Legacy locomotive. A Genesis or F40 would be great. They have the tooling for the Dash 8, I wouldn't mind that, either. Maybe Lionel could go out on a limb and make some of the new Viewliners that are just being released.

I second the request for an NS Veterans diesel. Lionel's made the SD60 before, all they have to do is make the "Crescent" cab and there you go. It better have an accurate RS5T horn like the prototype - that thing is a killer!

I agree with J Daddy. The Allegheny is due & if you remember it came out at the same time originally as the BB back in the late 90's & hasn't been re-made since 2005. Would think that would be the next VL Steamer. Also due is to catch up on all the Station Sound cars that were not made over the last 5 or so years.

Not a lot of predictions, mostly a wish list is what I see posted.  Most of which will never see the light of day.  I think it is a safe prediction that Lionel will produce more Lionchief Plus locomotives.  Anybody can run them without a big expense and they are good value for the money.  I do think that a LC+ Pennsy K-4 will show up at some point.

On A More Serious Note: this is not a prediction but something i would like to see and probably would buy if my "checkbook" said, "okay." a bit of background information - when i was ten, mid-fifties i spent the summer with two of my great aunts who lived in a third floor flat in the center of brookhaven, miss - a favorite thing for me to do was to sit on the fire escape and watch the illinois central, "City of New Orleans"- unload and load passengers - on more than one occasion we took the train to Jackson and return -

so, a tinplate "City of New Orleans" would be a fun, nostalgic and interesting tinplate set to run on my "up coming" layout - What do you think??

So the REAL question though is "When will the new tooling kick in?".  Lionel already has announced close to a dozen passenger cars sets in the last few years that they are only now just starting to deliver.

The CZ has come and gone... and now for the most part quietly forgotten.  No new tooling there to speak of -- aside from perhaps more detailed underbodies, but Lionel is gonna have trouble giving those away due to other glaring issues.

The N&W Pocahontas set is "on deck" for early February, and I recall a post several weeks back by somebody who seemed reasonably impressed with those cars via preview pictures sent to him by Mike R of Lionel.  And I think the MKT Texas Special cars are due in March/April (which are on my wish list ), with lots more sets presumably to follow much later in 2015.  Will any of these have "the new tooling"?

I'm hoping 2015 is also the year that we see the return of StationSounds diners, since so many sets since 2010 were announced without them.    So let's hope good thoughts!!!

I realize that the first of the USRA Heavy Mikes are still not here, but I would opt to see Lionel issue that engine in Milwaukee Road.  After all, it was the Milwaukee that ordered and ran 100 copies of that engine, more than any other RR that had them.  So, to see that engine coming out would make some serious adjusting of my train budget become a necessity.

Both of those sets were niche items for hard-core collectors of Milwaukee Road and Great Northern. The UP color scheme isn't popular with Milwaukee Road fans, and K-Line had already done the maroon and orange 21" Hiawatha cars. I have the yellow set, and my feelings about it border on buyer's remorse.

I don't know how GN fans feel about the light blue, but like the Milwaukee yellow scheme, it's a late variation and the earlier green and orange is the one most people associate with the GN.

Personally, doubt it because of the limited market. Their previous history with the GN & UP Yellow Milwaukee Road cars appeared not to be a big success.

I'd rate that one as fairly likely, given that it would likely outsell most of the roads in the initial offering. The possibility of Lionel offering a Milwaukee Mikado is one reason I'm not ordering the new 3rd Rail SD-7 in Milwaukee Road; I plan to spend a lot less on trains this year and I'd rather spend it on steam than on diesel.

The UP yellow Milwaukee Road cars were issued around the same time that Lionel did the UP Yellow version of the Bi-Polar engine. I purchased both the engine and 21" cars and personally like them, but yellow is my favorite color anyway.

I don't see the 21" yellow cars come up for auction very often, but the GN blue are always out there. Personally, I never liked the GN blue and much prefer the green and orange combo.

I still doubt that Lionel will introduce a line of 21" cars with it's next catalog.
