this is how I recall the RR. sun-faded coaches covered with rust wash, scores of big long freights on the mainline, grimy stations and overgrown branch lines.
for as much as I know about the Pennsy, I was not aware of the fire at Trenton station, or that Reading RDCs ran through Newark to, I guess, Exchange Place?

If you google "clear track ahead" you should come up with a pre-WWII PRR promotional film, aqbout 20 minutes, showing some PRR steam.

Neat to see the trains and the back ground for the details for modling.
Watched the entire film. Some great historical info there. It shows you how much we have lost through. All those industries allong the line are now in China and some of the lines and trains have entirely disappeared
