The Lionel Standard Gauge 4-6-4 Hiawatha Baltic and the Lionel Standard Gauge 4-6-4 Vanderbilt Hudson both use one pair of full size "flangeless" driver wheels and as a result can run on 042 curves.  This is also true of the SG Liberty Line 600e pictured here.

****!!..forgot i had this..i thought it Was a 392e..have these in black trash bags..taped up so surprize.. Has can motor.. Box saids proto sounds..station sounds....this has crackel black finish.

Ives bal for hudson ..pic 2 ives A..would work with regular wheels..but not sure if that motor has enough power.. A small size hudson..but on a 400e frame..think is too much for it. The ives wide..with mods. Would work. Still going to look at mth std can motor in my mth 400e. See about using that ..but. I will lose the sync smoke etc.depending on how its activated.

another project in mind,  400e mallet,  4-8-8-4,   I think it would run on  072,  with overhang (blind wheels), 7 foot for sure, motor blocks moveable,

for you that like projects I can make ,  the motor block,  you get the frames and boiler,  and modify , frames are around 150,  2 motors,  either, 50, or 100 bucks a piece,  boiler not sure on price, but it is easy to extend, so around 600 you can have a 400e mallet, and add smoke ,,sound etc.. you will have to find a tender,

if you want 4 motors just add,,,,to price,,,

for me now getting Hudson done, first,,,,

lionel already has the 6 wheel dives from the Hiawatha and cv,,,,,i have heard ,they lost those dies,,,,how can one loose dies,,,,when its a big investment,,,,,

If you need 6-wheel motor(s), consider those made by McCoy.  Periodically, McCoy produces a run of 6-wheel motors but only after they have received enough orders to justify making the run.  Therefore, if you need one or more 6-wheel motors, I recommend you contact McCoy and ask them to add your order to their list.

I should have mentioned this in my post above, but back in March of 2012, McCoy quoted me a purchase price of $410 each for their 6-wheel "dual" (2 can motors) "super" motors with steam wheels and side linkage.  It's likely those motors would be more expensive today. 

At the time, I planned to purchase two of them for construction of a Standard Gauge Milwaukee Road mallet.  Unfortunately, I never proceeded with that project due to health issues but if I had, the large size of the mallet and its four can motors should have yielded the weight/traction to pull a very long consist of Standard Gauge cars.  Neat!
