A little background ...A running TMCC / Legacy layout and added LCS WiFi and SER2 mods. iPad or iPhone see the WiFi (set for access point) and shows the green link indicating online. Communications after this point is non-existent.  Base version on iPhone screen is not updated, shows 0.0. Any attempt of a update returns  err 5 or 6. Never see the  "Expert" screen on iPhone and zero action on iPad.

Layout is powered by 4 Powerhouse 185 mods each to TPC or AVC units. TMCC era controllers attached ARC, OTC, 2 BPC. The cable that links these controllers is plugged into the SER2 db9, nothing is attached to the SER2  INP/OUT/Comm connector.  The "Y" cable specified with WiFi/SER2 is installed per manual. Seems like I missed something connecting the old with the new.

Base and CAB2 were updated to V1.60 and V1.61.  iPad and iPhone apps are resent downloads.

Any thoughts on this are appreciated.

A Cab-1 base won't work with LCS.

I don't think that's the problem, he said...

I have my LCS power supply cabled to the WiFi, and the serial connector plugged into the Legacy command base.  The daisy-chain from the WiFi goes to the SER2 box.  The other LCS cable goes from the SER2 box to the sensor tracks.  I just have the MTH TIU plugged into the serial connector on the SER2.

Do you see action on the WiFi LEDs when you spin the red knob on the CAB2 remote?  You should see the activity light blinking even if you're not connected to the network.

Thanks for your response. I have the WiFi jumped to SER2 these are the only two LCS I have at this time. My other controllers are the older TMCC version and they are daisy chained into the SER2 com/out screw terminals. With the LCS power cable plugged into the SER2 the layout works as normal but without the WiFi/iPad/iPhone features. If I move the LCS power up to the WiFi , as you suggested, I do see LED action from CAB2 activity, however I have no interface with the older TMCC controllers so no train action. Also in this configuration I have the SER2  RED RS232 LED on solid.

Prior to doing the above activity I did remove the TMCC Cab1/ base from the layout. After doing so the layout appears to run normal so far.

Rudy's video farther down on this post did cause me to think about grounding between xmfr and command base. I use Powerhouse into TCP/AVC with the old PDI type daisy chain for power and signal.

Thanks for being there "gunrunnerjohn"

Is the WiFi "Base / No Base" switch set to base?

Also what version iCab are you running?  The "expert terminology" screen is gone in the latest and is just another screen.  Current version is 2.0 (2.0x32 is what mine reads)

Martye, Thanks for the info update. I put it in "BASE" but I'll toggle it anyway when I check it.
