Basically, it looks like the concept is to get more realistic "lines" and passing when racing that you don't get from slots in the track. It also allows for racing more than two to four cars. Definitely a hybrid of Faller and R/C applied to a model race track. There are a couple of videos up with several cars running, including "drone" cars that just follow the lines at slower speeds to force passing.
