Here's something I've never seen.  Apparently, these "wedges" are being used by Union Pacific on the front end of some stack trains to reduce drag?

"Designed by UP employees to reduce drag on the forward end of a double stack train,"

I guess it makes sense.  Tractor trailers have utilized this concept forever, right?

I guess I'm a little surprised that the engine  in front doesn't do enough to cut wind drag on its own.  I suppose husky stacks do rise up above the engine just enough that this is something to address. Wonder how long before we see MTH or someone start offering one of these on a stack car?  How about you gentlemen out West or in the Midwest?  Have you ever seen one of these out there riding  the rails?  (The account I read said they were being used on runs between Calif. and Illinois.)
