If you are talking about the 2014 V2 catalog, yes I care about it. Can't say how much I care until I can see what's in it however.  As a rule, MTH usually has quite a few more things I want than the other manufacturer's catalogs. Usually priced more to my budget as well.  But it would be nice to miss a catalog cycle and have nothing to order so I can catch up on things for my layout like track, switches, buildings and scenery etc.

We'll have to wait and see, but much of my train dollars have been spent on preorders since Lionel had theirs out before MTH.  I just makes it harder for me if MTH also hits a homerun, now that my funds are mostly depleted.  If MTH recycles a bunch of stuff from previous years or a lot of fantasy stuff, it will be easy for me to not care.

We'll know york week, I guess.

I can't wait for the MTH catalog for many reasons. For one they actually release EJ&E items.  Few and far between but that's more than Lionel does. I can't wait for the tinplate catalog also.

I got strongly back into the hobby 3 years go. The first thing I purchased was Legacy thinking I was immediately going to buy Lionel. Since then I have bought DCS. I purchase 1 engine a year and the last 3 years I have purchased all MTH premier.

This year Lionel answered a request of mine by providing a heavy mikado, with whistle steam, so it's going to be interesting to see if MTH can beat that .

Over the years MTH was a very innovative company that came out with some very unique items. The realistic operating coaling tower, The beautiful three story railroad station, operating signals, the operating coal hopper car, some RR bridges all of which I have. If we look at this outfit today the innovative products are gone. This may be the result of a company struggling to stay afloat.

I look forward to the MTH catalog(s)--O Gauge and LCT--as much as I looked forward to the Lionel catalogs.  Since I pretty much operate by command control these days, and have both the Lionel and MTH systems, I'm perfectly content to wait--wallet closed--until both catalogs are available to see what items, in the specific road names I follow, might be available.  Then I will decide where my money--definitely more limited than is the case for some here--will be spent.

I figure there's no real rush to preorder anything until both of the major catalogs are available since there's ample time to examine both and make a reasoned decision.

I'm also patient and informed enough to understand why there often are long delays past the scheduled release dates.  For the most part, I just don't worry much about things that I cannot control.  Makes for a more pleasant life, and hopefully one that will be a bit longer in duration.

I'm looking forward to it!

I have mainly MTH New York Ontario and Western locotmotives (F3 ABBA, FT ABA, NW2, Camelback, 4-8-2 Mountain) and then couple rich yoder 44 tonners.

I can always hope for an O&W consolidation or other smaller steam power.

But, I have always been happy with MTH products.

I think that due to Lionel's apparent homerun of a catalog (I personally didn't find anything for myself) and with how recently it was released, people already have their train budget dedicated elsewhere and it's contents are still the big news. I'm sure we'll see some more MTH discussion once the catalog is released.

Yes!   I care, greatly!  I am a big fan of MTH's offerings and enjoy the variety of freight cars -- interesting stack cars, 8,000 gallon tank cars -- as well as the broader choice of road names in their diesel offerings.

As Allan just stated, I typically wait for the MTH catalog to make its appearance at York before deciding what to order from each of The Big Two's respective catalogs.

So Lionel sucked up all the "catalog" oxygen lately, big deal.

In another year or so all the hoo-haa about the VLBB and it's cousins will be gone and they'll just be loco's in folks rosters.

I look forward to all the new catalogs: MTH, Lionel, Weaver, Bachmann.  Whether any of them have anything I want to buy, well, that depends if they catalog something I want.

Rusty

You never know

I run strictly PS- 2 & 3, no Lionel.

I hope they filled my requests.

Waiting on the LIRR MU's too.

Just received the new B&O GP-7 Sunburst! Wow, great PS3 Sounds! B&O Museum diesel.

Believe it or not, I can’t find any Quality issues with this diesel. I didn’t get a lemon this time around!

Weathered photos to follow soon............. stay tuned.

Thanks to Just Trains replacing Jason’s back order.

I'm looking forward to it. Especially now I can get an FEF in 2rail with PS3. I'm very happy with my new Santa Fe 4-6-4.

I'd buy Lionel but they don't offer 2rail. So all my engines are MTH and one 3rd rail so far. But it needs either DCC or DCS. I'll probably install PS3 in it then I only need one system.

I always look forward to the MTH catalog, then again I look forward to the Lionel catalog as well and the Backmann and Atlas, Weaver and who ever else has a cool item for me to dream about.

I can't afford most of the products but I guess I'm just a toy train junkie.

What size are your curves? The FEF has a long driver wheelbase and 36" radius (O-72) won't cut it.

Matt,

I have 65"on my main lines and I'll do everything I can to keep the rest wide. I could always order the 3rail version and not have that problem. My 9000 is the 3rail version and it has no problems running what I have laid so far. My turns are also elevated and it handles it just fine. On my 9000 I also changed all the tender and the engine and trailing trucks with NWSL wheels.

You did make me think of one thing I haven't tried is putting my third rail Santa Fe on the track. I'll have to do that.

Ralph
