Finally picked up a new boxcar to run with my LCT PS2 Baby Blue Comet Passenger Set. The blue on the sides is slightly darker than the rest of the train but it is a close match and looks fine to me. A nice Valentines Day gift from my lovely wife.

Doc: how does it look mixed in with an all-passenger car train??
I have the PS3 Baby Blue Comet passenger set so I'm curious.
thanks - walt
Thanks Doc.
Actually I don't care at all if it was 'prototypical'. I was/am more interested in whether it looked dumb or not mixing it with a passenger train.
When I still owned all of my 'O' non-tinplate stuff, I had 2 passenger trains and I think anything other than a passenger car would have looked badly out of place. But one was the Aerotrain and it was a unique all passenger train and no cars matched to the passenger cars.

I have to believe the experts!!!!!

Doc,
Nice pick up, you will love the color more and more every time you run it with your set, makes the train look real cool!

I have two of the Standard Gauge Jersey Central #214 "Route of the Blue Comet" Railway Express Agency boxcars (MTH 11-30147) that I plan to run with my Blue Comet passenger set as head-end "express reefer" cars! For some reason, I haven't seen that done too often in the Standard Gauge world. Most guys just run the passenger set behind the 400E steamer.

David,
I'm also looking for a 500 Series Standard Gauge Boxcar to run with my little 384 and 300 series passenger cars. MTH made one in 2006 (10-2173).
I found one from a forum member but he wanted to sell it with the starter set and I couldn't justify buying a set that I already had, just to get one car.
Hopefully LCT will re-release the boxcar to go with the starter set which was also recently re-released.
Doc,
I would not hold my breath waiting on that car.

PCRR/Dave,
I disagree. It is my prediction that it will be released. Remember, you read it here!
Doc,
Good luck to ya buddy!
