If you don't use the "wet water" first the diluted glue will bubble on the surface and not seep down as needed.

I just use a 4 oz. drinking cup to apply, the spreader to "dress" the edges and a flat stick or brush to clean off the tie-tops.

I dribble on wet water liberally followed by the 50/50 wet water/glue mix. I place a drop cloth cover below to catch any moisture that might leak through.

I only do about 15-16" at one time.
