This is kind of a double dip since I already posed this over in the tinplate forum, but it is cool and I did just buy it...  It's a Prewar Marklin 0 gauge set, an HR66 12920 Steam loco and tender along with four of the 40 cm passenger cars.  These don't look to have the optional interiors but still are a nice set to have.  It will take some cleaning and some work, but I think it will be a worthwhile addition to the stable...

My M1a is a RK and it handles my O27 curves fine.....might have to get serious about the Decapod....

I've been waiting for someone to list either one of those locos for half or so of the list price for a couple of years, but I don't think I will end up getting that lucky..  Heck, just saw another Weaver Brass M1 go for $250 the other night...There was a nice L1 that went for a low price just the other day.  Someday when I have some train money again, maybe I will find a decapod, I really like those I1's too.

These are pictures of recent buys that took a long time to get To Clarksville. This is one of my best friends, checking out the new NW2, which ran great right out of the box. All three engines we

ran, worked great out of the box, which made us very happy.  All Legacy Command products.

RMT Beef Mini ABA set. Can't wait for it to get in. And then ... seriously,  I've got to stop buying.  Well ... maybe after I buy a set of PEEP carriages. 😉

Are you the guy that got the Pennsy Beep from an Ebay seller ?

I only purchased the Pennsy Beef Mini set.  It was from eBay though.

Most Probably this may be last new piece of rolling stock.

I have found documentation that the Southern "Crescent Limited" did in fact carry mail from New York City to Atlanta.  But could not find evidence of a "Crescent Limited" RPO car.

Now in the SR Historical Association, Inc. "TIES" magazine found B&W pictures of the Crescent Limited with what appears to be a two tone front end RPO car.  Unfortunately  picture too grainy to actually read the Banner Head.  But think that is enough evidence that it must have been.

Bought three new animal bobbers in the last month, seen here in the back pulled by a newly repaired Texas Special. The Lemax pieces also bought at the great Menards sale.

On the layout besides the Texas loop:

mth 1 train Broadway local, the train to Grand Station (an absolutely fabulous LC set— LIRR next, please!), a Santa Fe passenger waits on a siding, a P3 loco with cars from the 90s set, including an Amtrak from the same vintage, and on the main line an MTH Amtrak set, also pulling a Ringling Bros passenger car along for the ride!

I just got a First Response die cast 1941 Tennessee Highway Patrol car, which showed up yesterday via ebay. This is about ten years old.

I stripped it, hit it with dullcoat, then weathered it with washes and dry brushing.

Of all the wheeled vehicles on my layout, this needed the least work.

A little something to add character (and light) to the layout. [Marx tower]

Great find, looks like it is in real good condition.
Do not have one, but always keep looking at trains show for one in good condition with a good price

They look good on a tinplate layout.  A bit strange, though, since the window "glass" of the illuminated tower is opaque red plastic.

As for me, I haven't bought anything since before Thanksgiving -- I'm mainly saving up for the next train show, in March.  Although I've had an Atlas 60' NYC observation car on reserve for almost a year, now.  Does that count?

Nice !  Did you buy the last Pennsy set Walter had ?.....  :-(

I don't know who Walter is. The only Pennsy trains I own are this one, and the Williams FM TrainMaster.

Walter of RMT trains.  He's the owner.  He has some Beefs on his website that he is selling for $100.00 for the AA units.  The powered B units are going for about $55.00.  Great deal, but the Pennsy AAs are sold out.....:-(

Ah. No I didn't buy directly from RMT. This was off of eBay. $90 shipped for the three of them. Wasn't planning on buying, but for the price I couldn't pass that up.

Thanks for the info ! Just ordered  the ABA set.. Bob

Picked up a Lionel SD40T-2 from a very nice gentleman at the Piedmont Division model train show this past weekend! I've always love tunnel motors, both because the SD40-2 is one of my favorite locomotives and because the ingenuity of engineering in putting the radiators lower on the locomotive for the long tunnels out West

I also met up with a few old friends, including @Odd-d, whom I haven't seen in years and I re-joined the North Atlanta O Gauge Railroaders! Very excited to be back in the hobby, now I just need to get to work on the second level of the layout!

The DVD showed up with my layout on it. I watched the whole thing, they did a very good job. The only odd thing was, on the actual program itself, they showed still photographs at the end of it, and read through the captions in the original article. In effect, they wound up saying the same thing again, in a slightly different way. I got what was going on, but I think other people who watch it the first time might get a little confused.

I've picked up a couple of nice items from Doug (laidoffsick) before his move to new quarters and one I was able to test at a friend's layout today. What a beauty! He does amazing work with his detailing and  Kadee conversions and this is  a first for me with the weathering.
