I'm trying to re-motor some old All Nation F units with can motors and flywheels.  Here's a couple pictures of my first attempt.  I had to build a false fuel tank which is not visible when the drive is installed.  The fuel tank is styrene and made from .080 material.  It is glued together to form the mount for the motor.  The Pittman motor is held in place with caulk.  The plastic on top was needed to keep the pick up wires out of the gears or flywheel.  The universals and drive shaft are from an old Weaver Alco. The trucks were modified by Jay Criswell at Right of Way for all wheel pick up.

It has good slow speed performance and will coast about a foot if power is interrupted.   This is a B unit drive.

Has anyone else switched an All Nation F unit to a can motor?
