B unit is finished. E6B numbered as 12A, but it's really an E7 yet most people won't even know the difference.

It started out as this Lionel E7B unit

I turned it into a Santa Fe E6B #12A (even though it's still an E7)

This is the pair running together.

14L & 12A  (14L was ordered as a single unit so while #12L is in the shop, #14L is going to borrow it for it's run today)

Close coupled and will negotiate 072 curves

Now....what to do with the 15L dummy unit that was the AA pair? Guess I need to find a powered E8B.

I have gone back to 1952 on the model railroad.  Don't worry about your level S.  There is no such thing in 1952.  I use the Brown system (accumulating 60 brownies subjects you to dismissal).  Merits are given for extraordinary performance.  They will cancel a like number of demerits.

Your record is clean and you can hold onto those merits for future use, if ever needed.  How's that for a good deal.

There are many sets I wanted that Lionel never made. So I just make them myself with an appropriate number. Out of 200 sets on the wall 11 are pure Kimley fantasy.

Congratulations on spotting my "Lionel" 2288 SF freight set with a properly painted freight engine.

Tiffany Back in the 70's I had several A-B-B-A Lionel shell sets and 5 car 15" Williams stream liners painted in than unavailable color schemes by Chuck Brown at the Western Depot in Yuba City, Ca. He did great work. I run an A & B of each set re-powered with William's frames and motors and display the other pieces on the wall.

Hello zhyachts....

My goodness, you have a very nice fleet of F-3's   I wondered how much will it cost to do a paint job like the blue and yellow Santa Fe's ?  I like your idea of using the Williams chassis as someday I would like to own a set of F-3's A&B both powered blue/yellow S.F.  I think the Williams F-3 pilots looked funny and the postwar lionel pilots looked better (smooth and clean curves).  I didn't realized that you're in China and the Chinese government don't mind having American model trains in their country ?
