Nice to see the Weavers produced again. In my case I have 30 + C&O 9 panel hoppers. I might add 2 more Chessies. I'll have to review the listed road numbers and check the existing fleet of Chessies.

Weavers never came with coal loads like Atlas T-Mans. I wouldn't expect them to have coal @39 bucks ea.

The body is molded in Pennsylvania.  It's painted, decorated, and assembled in North Carolina.  If that doesn't count as "Made in the USA" then I don't know what does.  You may have a point regarding the trucks, but otherwise this is as "Made in the USA" as you can get.

Lionel is using the same company to shoot the bodies, frames, etc as Weaver did from what I've heard. So everything from plastic, paint, decoration, and assembly is done in the US. The only exception being the trucks which probably come from China as they are the same as Lionel's regular high end rolling stock. So to me that is acceptable as you're getting much improved trucks over the original Weaver trucks (which were from China btw). So it is quite apparent that this new line is Made by Lionel in the USA. Can't wait to get mine.

The images show a thumbtack uncoupler truck. Does Lionel still make those?

When they announced the Lionscale line during York week it was mentioned that the trucks would be all new including for the regular line rolling stock. So my guess is that the new design has the thumbtacks. Probably a reduction in part count (i.e. a reduction in cost) over the current trucks that have the hidden uncoupling tabs. Which is reasonable considering the price these cars are being sold at.
