CW-80 blinking light at 60% power

Definitely so.  The light bulbs take a lot of juice.  If the passenger cars have incandescent lightsi try changing the bulges to LED. Unscrew a few bulbs for now and you can at least run them. 

I just measured 9 18" MTH lighted passenger cars, with nothing else on the track they take a bit over three amps!  Add in two Pulmore motors, and you can easily be exceeding the capability of the CW-80.  It's certainly time for more power!

I'm surprised the two pullmor motors don't exceed the limit, my home A/C unit probably pulls less "juice".

UPDATE!

Picked up my new GW-180 today and hooked it up. Everything is working better then ever now. I noticed the headlights and cab lights on the A units don't flicker anymore, as they did ever so slightly on the CW-80. The passenger lights never dim and look majestic. The engine pulls all the cars without effort now, and I noticed that it seems to crawl at slow speeds a lot better then before.

Lionel 180w bricks are good power, now you can use the throttle side of your CW for any accessories. This will allow you to adjust their opearting voltage accordingly.

Amazing what sufficient power will do for a consist.
