The DL&W cabs have been started.  The windows were a little tricky but a jig made it a little easier. The ends will be done tonight and maybe I can assemble the bodies tomorrow.

Beautiful as always Malcom but I believe there should be an inverted V shape gutter above the the side cupola windows. Those gutters are one of the things that make this cab distinctive.

Thanks Pete!  I got photos and just flat overlooked it! I also am adding the gutter strips over the steps too that I missed. I better slow down a little.

It rained cats and dogs today do I stayed inside and drilled 392 holes and installed that many NBW castings. Handrails to tonight and tomorrow. I’m supposed to have a great weather day for painting Friday, now it’s up to me to get them ready by Friday. The photo is six of the DL&W cabs and the interloper is a CGW.

Malcolm, amazing work, as usual. Beautiful detail. If you ever decide to do one in the modern DL&W paint scheme, I’d be definitely interested in one.

The picture is from Steamtown about a year and a half ago.

This is a GVT (Genesee Valley Transportation) caboose. Not sure if its the same caboose relettered or they have two.

I would be interested in one painted like this. Dan's Resin Casting already has the decals.

I have one started but I have not found decals yet. I’ll keep you posted.

Thanks, Malcolm... now you’ve got me salivating

The day I took the picture of the caboose, I was actually on my way to Grzyboski’s to pick up one of the custom run of Lionel C-420’s they did in the current DL&W paint scheme. I’ve been looking for a matching 3-rail caboose ever since.

Alas, there is no more DL&W. The modern shortline in Scranton is the Delaware-Lackawanna, somehow related to the Genesee Valley Transportation Rail System.

The Delaware, Lackawanna and Western merged with the Erie to become the Erie Lackawanna in 1960.

The above pictured GVT and β€œLackawanna” cabooses in white and gray are from the old DL&W, however, built in their Dunmore shops in the 50’s on old tender frames.
