I am thinking of ordering the 8-pack of the Rail Box boxcars.  I know that there were some issues with the couplers and trucks on some of the early Menards rolling stock and that more recent releases include improved trucks and couplers.  I am wondering if the initial production run of the Rail Box boxcars has sold through and if the current inventory includes the newer trucks and couplers.

Menards Mark....can you answer?

Mark,

Please give me the address where I can return the one's that I now own, that do not lock properly.  I have one military Box Car with Shell load that needs one set of trucks replaced.  I will eat the others that I replaced on the earlier Tank Flat Cars, I purchased 2 sets of MTH Premium trucks and replaced them.

Thanks much,

PCRR/Dave

I got one of the boxcars for Christmas. I don't know if it was one with the new and improved trucks. They were die cast trucks with metal fast angle wheels. On the car I received, one set of wheels fell off one of the trucks straight out of the package, and another axle was bent and wobbled down the track. I managed to fix the whole mess and it looked beautiful. But when I tried running the boxcar, the detail piece which hangs  below the boxcar body slammed into the track control rails for my milk car and threw the entire train off the track. So now it is just a display piece as it cannot be run.

I assume my experience was with the older problem trucks, and that they have not cleared through the system.

Hi Dave,

Simply email Guest Services (guest@menard-inc.com). Tell us which items need to be replaced (include the Menards SKU#) along with a short explanation about the issues you encountered. If you have the original order number, please also supply that.

We'll take it from there and make sure that you are completely satisfied with your purchases!
