Mark - thanks for the compliment on my collection.  It is haphazard, I only purchased what I liked over the years with little thought to any structure.  So I have an "assembly" of prewar and postwar Lionel, prewar Flyer, prewar and postwar Marx, prewar and postwar Hornby and French Hornby and a scattering of UK / Japan  tin plate even some floor trains.  As you can imagine with such a broad range of trains, I have a complete set of NOTHING!  But after starting in 1979 and to today, I am still having fun!!

I really liked that switcher of yours Mark, the C&O (B&O) are favorite Railroads of mine as we lived in Ohio for about 20 years and in Maryland just outside Baltimore for about 10 more.  I happen to think that the Lionel NW-2 is a great loco and after all these years I still do not have ONE!   I have that one on my "acquire list".

A late front end Friday addition. This is a Lionel Western Pacific F7 #918-D, a model of one of the last four WP F7's retired from service and donated to museums.

The real 918-D still runs excursions in Niles Canyon California, operated by the Pacific Locomotive Association (PLA). The other 3 WP F7's are in museums around Northern California.  Note that the model has the large WESTERN PACIFIC logo that was used when it pulled passenger trains. The paint job on the real 918-D has the smaller WP logo when it was relegated to freight trains. Another difference is the truck color. The model has silver trucks, but the current 918-D has black trucks, they may have been silver earlier in its life.

#917 (operational) and #921 (not sure if it's in operating condition) are at the Western Pacific Railroad Museum in Portola, CA. This museum is just a few miles from the Williams Loop and the Keddie Y just before entering the Feather River Canyon to the west*.

*Side Note: The Keddie Y is owned by Union Pacific, but BNSF has trackage rights for trains coming out of Klamath Falls, Oregon heading for southern California using the western Y. UP trains generally come from Salt Lake City and use the eastern Y into the Feather River Canyon.

#913 resides and is in operating condition at the California Railroad Museum in Sacramento.

Well, I just bought that on ebay about 2 weeks ago gave her a good degreasing and cleaning, rebuilt the e unit and runs like a champ, so like you it took about 30 years, God Speed Don
