Hi everyone...it's F.E.F again and another week flashes by... It's 1000 here in Central Texas and already over 100 so its HOT!!  Time to stay in the aircon and post to this thread.  My picture today is of an old veteran, the Lionel 253, one of the stalwarts of Lionel's pre-war 0 gauge.  This locomotive in various colors was made between 1924 and 1932 with manual reverse and then from 1931-1936 with remote reverse as a "253E" designating the e-unit installation. His green color dates him to about 1925.   The cars are the #610 Pullman (X2) and #612 observation.  The green color would date them to about 1925 but they have been repainted (rubber stamping over windows is gone)  so I can't be sure if this is their original color.  So from the time period of around 1925 -1926 here is the #253 electric and his train.

Blue Front end Friday

It is a hot, humid day in Maryland as a FF20 AB consist pulls a train out of town.  Two years old now, these were originally classified as FP20s for dual service when they first arrived in 1947, although they never had the 5 stripe passenger scheme.  The 2,000hp FM 38D-8-1/8 10 cylinder, two-stroke, opposed-piston type engine was a good engine on navy submarines but was not reliable in the FF20 due in part to inadequate cooling.

This is an Atlas FM Erie-Built.

Wow Great F.E.F pictures everyone.  My offering today is more about the "middle" than the front end.  I have had the Marx WP E7 AA for quite some time but have always been looking for the "B" unit.  Found it the other day on e-bay for a remarkably modest price, not sure why.  It was dusty and dirty (not oily dirt just accumulated dust) so about an hr with some gentle soap and water and it looks great.  Anyway, here is my "new" WP E7 A B A  .

I had no idea that I was posting the same 1950's R12 Two-Tone livery subway model that you did earlier.  Cool motorman!  Your station platforms look real good also.
