Could be wiring, smoke fan, or something else. May have a new board in it with out serial data that's why no name. Needs to be evaluated. Did you try a feature reset? G

To be honest, I find it almost impossible to understand what issues you're having with you're engine.
You really need to be a bit more descriptive as regards exactly what you're doing and exactly what is the result.

ok powered it up used add engine no name shows up on the remote it runs fin for- and in rev- the smoke unit does not smoke i have not tryed a rest yet my next time with the layout i will give it a shot thank you G

Most likely the engine ID# is blank because the board is a replacement board in which the person replacing the board neglected to add a em when he did the replacement.
Alternatively, if al of your soft keys show MTC, the engine added with a very low DCS signal strength.
Regardless, this has nothing to do with you smoke problem.
