For those who have a Legacy Base out of normal reach, would it be beneficial to be able to leave a "Black Module" in the base, be able to upload and upgrade to it, and then have the base reboot and simulate the channel button being held down and upgrade?
Of course this does not solve needing a base to make the CAB2 module, so another "off layout" base or some other means would be needed to make the CAB module. Just curious.

In March I was attempting to get the Legacy Base locked into my Power Center withe the black module in place and you highlighted the point about the channel select button.

Nothing has changed...yet. It was an inquiry to see if folks that had a hard to reach base would find this useful.
The downside would be, that you would need to find an alternative source to create the CAB2 module or create a database module.
As far as shipping for Veterans to customer service, when requesting an RA from Lionel, mention you are a veteran and they will send you a prepaid shipping label. This is all on the honor system.
But... I really am a veteran!
