As a kid I spent years and a fortune(to me at that time I was 10yrs old) collecting all 13 box cars diesel and caboose. But I will be honest. The diesel is a POS!built cheap only one motor no smoke, bell, horn of any kind.Sure would be nice to run it in TMCC or Legacy mode.It would be a nice throw back product.Nick

Looks like it would be relatively straightforward to transplant the trucks and guts of a Legacy GP7.
It would be easier for Lionel to make Burlington Northern U30C 1776 and SD40-2 1876. The graphics are similar.

Why would it be easier to make the BN one rather than Seaboard's U36B?

How could that be? It was made in the U.S.A.
Always nice to hear someone applying or expecting today's standards on a 37 year old product...

Because Lionel has U30C tooling already. Making a U36B (at least a real model of one) would take all new tooling.
As mentioned above, Lionel has already made the BN one.
Get a Williams U33C and turn that into a two motor U36B with a new truck & motor set from Bachmann.

I think Lionel made a Legacy Engine that you are Referring to..I believe I have this and the matching caboose. It's nice. Thx.. Probably 2 or so years ago..
