I am just about over this E8

Sounds like the speaker died. Replacements are readily available if that is the problem.

Make sure the 3 wire speaker pot harness still connected, rotate the volume pot a few times.  Make sure speaker wire connected and no broken wire on pot or speaker.  If not as Chuck says, replace speaker.   They are 8 ohm for PS-1.  G

Well I waited about 30 minutes and fired up the engine.  Now the sounds run just fine.  ??

I'll give it a good running tonight and see if I can duplicate the problem.  I cannot wait till PS3 boards are available!  This little gal needs an overhaul!  

G, I'm thinking if I went to a slightly larger speaker @ 4Ω I would get a fuller and louder sound.  What is the speaker's current cone size?

PS/1 uses an 8 ohm speaker, I suggest you don't go lower with the impedance as that may kill the audio amplifier.

You need to consider the driver that powers the speaker. These relatively small electronic systems may not have adequate power to push more volume.  Along with the impedance (ohms) marked on the speaker there should also be a watt marking.

I did an extensive upgrade of an older Weaver set of E8. With room to the rear of the unit, I added a second speaker along with the speaker in the fuel tank.   I was concerned about the heat generated from the EOB board, Unit was hot to touch, on the side panels. I eventually went back to one speaker.
