"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

I recently had a few illuminated Kato bumpers (n scale) get hot and burn out. I did notice that one of them got melted underneath the track at the led. The 2 others stopped working. All of the tracks in question are insulated from each other except at the power blocks. The wiring has been done months ago and we have been running it without problems until the other night. The only thing we recently did was use a static grass applicator to add grass to a small section. Could this have caused the issue?

Yes I leave them on. I disconnected the nce from the layout and hooked that up to a test track and it was still hot to the touch so I assume that it is the power supply. I ordered another one to try. It should be here in a few days and I’ll post back later and let you guys know.

power on or off they should never get hot, what is the voltage rating on the box say? Are you at the top or are we talking some kind of short? a little more info would help.
