An SP 10 Wheeler, UP switcher,. PFE 3 pack and a couple other boxcars. Charlies 30% off is a nice incentive
Charlie, not sure what a "Centerpede" is though
Check out our web site and you could win a Lionel Centerpede!
I ordered what I wanted from the first catalog, I'm not going to order anything from this catalog
but I still think the catalog has a lot to offer. Great work by Lionel.
Thanks,
Alex
Nothing..I am holding out for Charlie Nassau's LIRR exclusive announcement.
I see a lot of 18" passenger cars. They used to be my favorite, but now only the 21" cars are looking right to me.
Once you go there, it's hard to come back.
A few pieces of rolling stock, aux tender, and maybe a caboose, that's it! Nice break for the bank account for this catalog.
Didn't see anything that is a must have, will wait to see if anything hits Charlies warehouse sales next year.

Actually I'm sorry to say that's also largely my initial reaction. I have items that are in this catalog I have already ordered (SP Legacy crane and boom car) and apart from those there are just three things that catch my eye; the "headline" YB6 steamer (although I really would not contemplate paying the MRSP of nearly $2 grand for this and even the pre-order prices when they come out may be too much), the Big Boy survivors caboose and the coaling tower.
Still, I reckon Lionel deserve praise for putting out products that span their customer base and I wish them great success.
As it has been said A Picture is Worth ... .
Probably some of the operating accessories, just have to narrow down which ones.
Is it just me or are those the exact same autoracks and 86'hicubes from last catalog?
Yeah.....$650 for an S-2 is crazy......well, if Lionel can't move them maybe they will offer them weathered in 2016!!
Don't count on it. These are BTO, so unless dealers go wild ordering lots of "extras", these may not get made at all. You won't find me spending the $470 street price for something that wouldn't move on the OGR for-sale forum for $300 tops... and more likely in the $225-$250 range.
WOW! $649.00 msrp for reissued diesels!
Shop around. I had sticker shock at first but street prices are a bit more reasonable.
The $470 street price is still way too steep for my blood. This is a switcher for gosh sakes -- not an ES44.

But still no StationSounds add-ons. Delivery of the announced 18" cars is nowhere to be seen. Latest ETA's are pushed out to Nov/Dec 2014, but I don't get the warm-and-fuzzies with these delivery dates. I think it'll be well into 2015 before Lionel's aluminum passenger cars arrive. Suggest we use delivery of the CZ and N&W Pocahontas sets as bell-weathers of Lionel's ability to delivery aluminum passenger cars again. Both sets were cataloged quite awhile ago... so if Lionel produces on a FIFO basis, it'll be quite some time before we see the more recently announced 18" aluminum passenger cars.
As for StationSounds cars, I guess we're better off making our own for now. GunrunnerJohn has been doing that, and I can see why.

I'll talk myself into at least one of the LionChief Plus locos. Nothing stands-out yet.
I love the Legacy cranes but none are the right road names. Maybe next time?

Could very well be, Martin. This is a Volume 2 catalog, and it's not uncommon to see a lot of stuff "re-catalog'd" from Volume 1 -- especially the non-BTO rolling stock that's gonna get made regardless of consumer interest. Lionel has gotta keep the fire stoked so to speak. Think of it as a manufacturer/importer "push sale" rather than a consumer "pull sale".

Was looking at the Lionel 1948 catalog just last, boy has O scale come a long way since those "Glory Days," this catalog is another real winner for Lionel.
As to Brian's question, I will be on the fence, the auto racks and auto parts cars keep calling to me, but those will may every well wait another year.
I pre-ordered the Legacy ten-wheeler, the LC+ Camelback, and a UP water tender from patrick's Trains. I'll wait and watch for a Union Pacific Legacy S-2 and a B&O Shark B unit, 'cause those three hit the pre-order limit I set for myself.

With an MSRP of $80 for a PS-1 Boxcar, that makes the $250 per car price on the GGD El Capitan set look like a steal.
