I would like to see some stock cars with wooden, instead of steel ends.  Many stock cars were rebuilt with steel ends but some had wooden ends until the 1960s. I belive the steel ends were called dreadnaught ends. Lionel and Weaver both make cars with steel ends but no major manufacturer makes wooden end cars which were more common.  The steel cars had major corrosion problems on the inside near the floors caused by momentos left by the occupants.

How do they compare to premier MTH?

The MTH stock car is a larger, post WW II car with dimensions similar to an AAR box car.  Unlike the similarly dimensioned Trainman and Weaver stock car models, the MTH stock car does not share roof and end tooling with another model.  The MTH stock car has a Stanray diagonal panel roof, unlike any MTH 40 foot premier box car.  It is an interesting model.

While a stock car with wood ends would be a nice addition to the O scale options I would like to see a stock car with Murphy ends.  Many USRA type box cars were rebuilt into stock cars and sported 5/5/5 or 7/8 Murphy ends.  Hopefully MTH or Atlas has USRA box car tooling that can accept different sides and make a new stock car an inexpensive product to develop.
