Hi Ian, Welcome to the OGR! There are quiet a few UK collectors/operators of Lionel and 3-rail American outline O Gauge in general.
Check the website below my post for the Lionel Collectors Club UK. A great bunch of people.

What is your particular area of interest? Pre-war, Post-war, Modern. Conventional or command control?
Nick
HI Ian,
As Nick said - Welcome. Where are you? - there are a small group of us in South Bucks/Berks if that helps.
LCC Uk used to have an active forum but to be honest most are all on here now

Probably British steam for my new layout. Hopefully get hold of the Hogwarts Express in or around June according to TrainWorld. Would be nice to see what else Lionel could produce in British steam locomotives. Also, have alot of OO Gauge, some Kato N Gauge & a couple of Lima O Gauge locos for 2 rail. Mostly steam & a few diesels. Ive switched from one to another over the years but really fancied settling into something different for a new main layout project. Then i saw the new Lionel Albert Hall set & that was me hooked. The biggest problem is that i just love both the British & American locos so maybe if all goes well with my first Lionel layout then i may attempt a second layout which would probably be either UP or BNSF.
Again, many thanks for your advice, i'll keep you posted on my progress.
Cheers
Ian.

Hi Mike
I am based in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.
I have to say that this forum is great. Only been on for about 6 hours & already received a tremendous amount of help & advice.
Thanks for the welcome, much appreciated.
Cheers
Ian.
Hi Ian, You will be fine with the New Lionchief Hogwarts set which I assume TrainWorld would be talking about.
The older version of that set (that we have) is conventional AC powered. It does not have the new sounds only a not very British sounding air whistle. Lionel did a nice job with the Hall Class.
MTH trains did a LMS Duchess Class 4-6-2 and matching coaches. To date Lionel have only done a few British outline engines. Thomas and friends and the GWR Hall Class.
My 7 year old is desperate for Lionel to do a LNER A4 Mallard.
Obvously the more people that ask Lionel for some more British stuff the more chance they might make some.
The nice thing is 3 rail O gauge is a very broad church so to speak. Nobody will raise a eyebrow if you have a combo layout running US and British stuff. Run what ever you want! Importantly have fun.

Nick:
Have you considered the ACE or Darstaed A4 models?
Bob
Welcome aboard Ian. Good to have some English sense of humor aboard.

Hi Bob, Yes, I keep my eye lifted for a ACE model but last one I saw was well over £1000!
Darstead are supposed to be bringing one out soon. So I will keep a look out.
If I find one at a reasonable price it will get a TMCC upgrade.
