Have you reached out to the local TCA Division?  It's the Atlantic Division.  I'd imagine if you offered to write an article for their newsletter that you could include a small blurb about joining/membership at the end of the article.

Would love to be involved, but with it being a 241.8 mile trip (I Google mapped it) each way and travel through the horrendous NY traffic too, I will have to pass up the opportunity...sadly so.

An excellent recruiting tool is a simple one-page flyer, pasted into an older copy of MR or RMC, which is then placed in various doctors office waiting rooms, where all too often you will find bored husbands waiting for their wives with nothing to read but Woman's Day, Good Housekeeping, Vogue, etc. 

Anybody who stands up to pee will probably be delighted to find something male oriented to look at, and just might become infected with model railroading like we are. 

The only bummer is that you'll probably have to replace those mags once in a while, as they seem to have a tendency to disappear...

I wish we had a club down here in North Carolina 

I was there a couple years ago for one of the swap meets.   It was great to see the layout.

Is there going to be an open house or swap meet in the near future?

we are having open houses on:

Nov. 5. 10am-4pm

Dec. 2. 6-9pm, Dec. 3 & 4. 12-4pm

Jan. 7 & 8, 14 & 15. 12-4pm.

Sure wish I lived in your area, I'd join in a heartbeat.  I especially like your 1st 2 rules.  I don't think you will have any problems finding and keeping members.
