MTH ditch light question

It sounds as if they were "repaired" by wiring both bulbs to a single FET. Am I correct in that the original problem was that only one of the lights was out?

If that's the case, the "repair" was really a cheaply and poorly done.

Regardless, I expect that you cannot fix this through software.

That may have been the case, Barry.  Since this cannot be fixed via software, how do I fix the problem?  I'm just so-so at soldering, but may be willing to try as long as I don't fry out the main board.

Ditch light  options are under the Control menu. You may want to take a look at the diesel upgrade kit schematic. It shows  where  the different lights plug in. I wonder if your  ditch lights are plugged into   the wrong plug, Maybe the  mars light plug .  I wouldn't try soldering anything on a Proto-2 board. You need some special skills for that. Trust me, I fried one board, doesn't mean you will though.  It's risky.

fI a FET has failed, you need to either replace the bad FET, which requires excellent soldering skills, or replace the PS2 board entirely.

There is no ditch light setting that can cause both lights to blink at the same time, in sync with each other.

Maybe gunrunnerjohn or GGG will see this. I think they do some board repairs at chip level on certain boards. Don't know about yours, but either of those folks would be worth a try or at least a consultation.

As Barry says, there's no software setting, configuration, mode or whatever that makes the two ditch lamps flash together.  In other words, it's a wiring error.  Why not take it back to the LHS?  As I see it you took it in because the ditch lights weren't working and, as I see it, they're still not working.

If your LHS doesn't rectify this I can repair it.  G
