I was told that you could operate Lionel Legacy engines with the MTH smartphone app if you had a TMCC/Legacy cable connected from the TIU to a Legacy command base. The only command base I have found one Lionel's website is this:

Is there another way of getting one? Or is this it.

I was under the impression that a cab1 base would work just fine. Also please check the dcs users group thread. Apparently the lionel functions through the wifi app haven't been released yet, but should be soon.

That is not yet possible with the current, "Standard", version of the DCS App. That capability is expected to be in the "Pro" version of the app, due out later this year.
