While vacationing in Newport and Cape Cod I had the fortunate experience to see Al's layout. It was a stormy Sunday afternoon (Nov. 2). I was so impressed with his layout dedicated to serving transportation of goods such as raw material to the manufacturing plant. I also noticed an MBTA commuter train on the staging track ready to service the commuters who work in those plants. Al did an incredible job with changing his beautiful new top draw locomotives to the Maine Central road name. I was given the remote and happily enjoyed running one of the trains. And then there were those amazing industrial buildings representing the commerce his railroads served. I have a new found respect for the Boston and Maine, and the Maine Central. There was plenty of quality locomotive power and rolling stock. Al offered plenty of good advice. Plus I saw what can be done with the user friendly Mianne benchwork which leaves room for changes as a railroad progresses. I apologize for not taking any pictures. I might add the Mrs. has an impressionable tinplate collection for display. Thank you Al for the great visit!
