I have an Atlas Seaboard engine purchased new in the year 2000, p/n 6811-1.  The part that I need is the screw that goes through the truck and holds the roller assembly in place.  A wire connects to the top of the screw (under the head of the screw) for electrical contact to the roller.  Unfornunately the thread has stripped, and no longer holds the roller in place.  I have contacted Atlas, and have been told that they no longer support this product as the item has been re-designed.  Since model trains tend to be around a long time, I was surprised by this response.  I have taken the screw to a local hobby store, who handles a small amount of trains, but mostly deals in RC items.  They did not have a screw to match this, but described the screw as " a number 2, which is 15mm long, pan head, phillips." (My measurements show this as 15 mm from under the head to the end and 17 mm long from one end to the other inclusive of the head)  Any suggestions as to where I can find this screw, so I can put this engine back together.  Thanks.

AMF, I forgot that with Atlas diesels you have to take the entire locomotive apart to get to the roller screws so my locomotives were of are no help. However, I do have an MTH parts kit and even though the kit doesn't contain machine screws it does include pick up rollers.

I also have some earlier samhongsa pick up rollers and I found two screws that match the roller threads. One screw fits the samhongsa rollers and the other fits two styles of MTH rollers. One style is the same exact size as the rollers on my Atlas SD-35's but both screws will need to be shortened.

One screw is 18 mm's in length and the other 21 mm. I can mail the screws to you but before I do so are you absolutely positive it's the screw that's stripped and not the threads on the pick up roller? My contact info is in my profile.

Thank you Jocko D.  I heard from Atlas this morning and they found an SDP-35 in their place that apparantly has already been "cannabolized" for parts.....however, it still has the screws that I need so they are sending them to me.  That being said the screw that I have that came out of my engine appears to be the problem as the threads look worn to me.  Why this would wear, I have no clue, as it positions through the truck with a very tight fit, so there really is no room for it to move around.  So.... once I receive the "new screws" from Atlas I will re-assemble the engine and hopefully put this "issue" to rest.  If it is the roller assembly thread..........which hopefully it is not, then a new chapter starts!  This really is a great engine, and I am anxious to see it together and back on the tracks working.  Thank you for your offer of assistance, it is greatly appreciated.
