Newbie 1st Layout Plans 5'6" x 16'

I'm working on my first layout since childhood and I would like to ping my plans off everyone here for critique and ideas.  I have over 300 pieces of Super O and will be building this layout from my stock. Curves and turnouts will be standard Super O (all my trains are Postwar) however I am considering recurving to 060 for the outer loop to keep my options open for modern stuff. 

 

The layout plan is rather simple accomodating two trains with a reversing loop and a mountian on the left side. I'm not sure about recommended grading and therefore have concerns with the designed grades.  Also, am I missing anything critical with the design?  Again, I cannot go crazy with this layout and need to keep it simple due to time and budget constraints. Any input will be appreciated.

Dear R6T8net (whew: what a handle!) I think you're on a really nice track (pun intended) with your ideas, trackage and space. My layout's nearly 24 feet long, but narrow, save for dogbones at either end for turnarounds for two trains. I decided early I wanted to have a nice, not over-realistic layout (I do this to get away from everyday realism!) emphasizing postwar Lionel, with an emphasis on early December - very lightly Christmas themed. It's your railroad and your world you're building - really please yourself and you'll bring people into your world who will appreciate it; especially you!

Back and left end are against walls.  The layout is going in the office area at my business (CNC machine shop) with the intent of 1) therapy for me and 2) customer conversation; its really amazing the train stories that come out when people come in and just see my inventory sitting there.  I can easily see me getting carried away with this so I'm really holding true to simplicity. 

 

In regards to my handle, can anyone guess what it eludes to?  It's my other hobby that I'm passionate about.
