Hello all, I have just recently become a member of this forum, although I have been browsing it for a while now, and this is my first time posting anything so please bear with me if I am making any mistakes.

Firstly, greetings to all fellow O Gaugers out there!!! I am so glad that there is such a great community full of amazing people in this hobby. This forum has helped me learn so much and I am glad to finally be a part of it.

I recently came across someone selling a Lionel Polar Express Locomotive and Tender (6-18754), You know the sought after one with the whistle steam effect, for $225 which I thought to be a good price. From what I can tell, it seems to be in good shape and the box is in decent shape. However I know little about this version and when looking at the picture of the bottom of the tender, something doesn't look right to me. Shouldn't it have an On/Off switch or at least a volume control knob for the Railsounds?

I can't shake the feeling that something's not quite right about this one. Maybe it's been modified in some way? Or maybe I'm just going crazy I don't know but I don't want to buy it if that's the case, so I'm turning to you guys for some help. Here are some pictures of the locomotive and tender. What do you think? Is it ok? Is that a good price for one of these? Should I buy it or pass on it? Any advice you guys could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scott
