Since January I’ve been working with a couple of other NLOE members to revamp and finish out harbor scene. Last night we poured the “water” and I was so happy with the results. We still need to add another thin layer of resin and the water surface detailing but I figured this was a good point to share.

Flyby over the scene.

Thanks for sharing this! I have a small harbor scene planned on my layout to be, and this is really valuable. You should be proud, it looks great (loved the fishing boat ORCA, paging captain Quint). my construction is similar, I have foam board over plywood and this gives me some things to think about (like I have 4" of foam, and how deep to make the water surface from dock level).

Nice work! Is the base color a gray?  Sometimes my color blindness kicks in more than others and I can't tell if its a deep blue or gray.

Its a mix of blue/gray, green and brown. i miked different shades and randomly blended them together so its not consistent.  I was mostly trying to give the effect of depth so we would only have to pour a thin layer of resin.

The resin was tinted with both blue and brown.
