Is it possible to make an EZ Streets switch non derailing? The wiring diagram and brief instructions don't say anything about it.
Thanks

You can with a insulated track section but the motor will be still getting power after it throws and may eventually burn out. Some in here will know more than me but I'm planning to make reverse loops so I can run PCCs and the Peter Witt car. I would avoid stopping a vehicle or trolley on the insulated section if you do.
Joe,
The swivel rails on those switches are spring-loaded so they are non-derailing. This makes them perfect for turn-around loops where you want your trolley to enter the loop in the same direction each time. And if that's all you plan to use them for, you don't even need to wire them up !

I did notice it's spring loaded. So as long as I don't apply any power to the switch controller it should work? I just pushed a car through by hand and it looks like that works.

Joe:
That's correct, you don't even need to power the switch motors if all you want to do is use the spring-loaded feature. Plus even if you will occasionally need to change the position, you can do that manually using the sliding switch built-in to the frame.
They work great. I bought mine from Forum Sponsor Charlie at Nassau Hobby when they first came out in February 2015, they’ve been installed since March 2015 and I have had no problems at all.
