Hi all,
I picked up a old Lionel motor and one of the coils, there a bare wire like the
coating was scratched off is there away to recoat the bare wires to protect it.

Lionel motors have three coils... which one are you talking about? Is there actually any failure right now? Does the armature pass, or fail, continuity and shorting tests?

I missed the part about the end of the wire.
Here's a picture of the motor, I think it's a Pittman I cleaned it out a bit it does work
but I had to take out the front bushing it spins with the motor. Is there a way to hold
that in place either a thin piece of metal or J.B. Weld or something??

The bushing should float a bit in the holder so that it can properly align with the shaft. If you use epoxy, it won't float.
Is the bushing held by that washer and metal piece? If so, try adding a washer or some padding inside the clamped structure to tighten up the bushing a bit. A really good solution would be a felt washer that could retain some oil, or maybe just some string.
Also, be sure that the bushing spins very freely on the shaft and has proper lubrication.

Yes there a thin felt washer that goes inside, I see to ad a bit more to sure it up.
Is it a Pittman motor?
