Now that Halloween is over, I'm starting to plan my Christmas layout.  I want to use the Woodland Scenics Track Bed under the Atlas O track this time instead of the cork like I have done in the past.

My question is that I would like to paint the track bed in a gray color as the black doesn't appeal to me.  If I was doing a rail yard, mining layout, or a subway, the black track bed would be ideal, but I'm not doing any of those.

Has anyone done this before?  What was the result?

AMFLEET, Did you paint your Track Bed as you mentioned?  I may want to do the same.  I'm kind of new at all this but have a layout that'll be Ross outer loops with Rossbed and inner tubular with Track Bed.  No track is laid yet on all plywood table.  Was thinking Fleck stone spray paint like PRRHORSESHOECURVE did on both material... don't know if that'll crack on the Track Bed when flexed.  Think so?

Will you then screw in the track or glue it to bed and then glue bed to table?  Thought I'd ask while I'm here.
