Hello everyone.

I have a Railking Madison set with two issues on one of the cars. The set was purchase in 1999, with numbers in the 30-6211 range. On this car the lights do not turn on. I checked the continuity with a volt meter and there was no continuity. I checked another with lights that worked and continuity was fine. This leads me to believe the lights are gone. The pickup wiring seems well connected.

A second issue is with a coupler arm being loose and hanging down. It seems a tension spring has come loose.

My questions are as follows:

1. Once you get past the two retaining screws, how do you remove the base, without damaging the car body?

2. what type of lights are in the car and where can I purchase replacements?

3. As to the coupler arm, any suggestions on how to repair the tension spring so that it stays in place? If not, looks like I may need to replace the whole truck. Any suggestions on where to purchase trucks?

Thanks for your assistance.

Regards,

Bill

You might have to twist the car to get the roof off, then you can remove the screw holding the truck on. The screw on top of the coupler arm is probably loose.
If your bulbs are like the picture, I can send you some.

Hi john

I found another set of screws and was able to remove the top. My bulbs are similar to yours. Mine do not have wires extending from either of them. I tried clear bulbs from a string of miniature Christmas lights but they do not fit. If you have two bulbs you can spare that would be appreciated. For future reference, where can they be purchased?

As to the coupler, yours seems different. The screw is on the top; mine is on the bottom. It still works, but hangs lower than normal.

My mailing address is Bill Howell 361 Ballad Ave. Rochester, NY 14626. Please let me know what I owe you for the lamps and I will  return the money to you. I will also need your address.

Thanks for the assistance.
