@Sitka  where did you find the figures of the Marines. I am trying to do a Marine Corp recruiting station. My son was in 9 years and I would like to acknowledge his service is a small way.  Jeff

Jeff, Tell your son Thank You for his service! I painted the figures, came across sitting U.S. Army soldiers but was a set of 12, decided to paint some sitting figure in the color of the uniforms. Good luck on your project that would be a nice post when completed!  God Speed!   Mark

Jeff if you can't find U.S.M.C. figures did you think about finding Police officers and painting in Dress Blue uniforms? Mark

Mark, thanks for the idea, did not think about using Police officers. I really wanted the "cover" on the Marines.

I had contacted a guy who makes and paints figures, but after a reply several months ago nothing further.  I need to reach out to him again. Same guy who made "Bob the Painter".  Jeff

Took my Lionel 611 to a friends last week for a run as she hadn't hit the rails in several years now. Assembled a mix of Southern, Norfolk Southern, and N&W passenger cars for the consist. She is great smoker and all was well until I shut her down for a break while we worked on a few things. All of a sudden she started smoking on her own - just sat there and began to fill the room!  It was a minute or two before I could shut her down again and later when I started her up again, no smoke.  Tried to cycle the smoke on/off a few times as she ran to no avail.

Here she is billowing smoke all on her own.  I bought this one form Alex M. some 6-8 years ago and he had enhanced the smoke unit as well as converting her to 4 chuffs. Today she was emitting smoke from underneath the front of the boiler also as you can see here below. Really nice locomotive!

If repainted, the Arttista state trooper can be made to look like a drill instructor. You would have to slice the holster off.
