Fantastic imagination and implementation, this last very much the hard part. Not just the ability for one phase of model railroading, but all of them. Beyond that, the ability to script and shoot a photo story of the layout. My words understate.....
Very cool Lee, and I especially like the work shop.
Lee,
Fantastic layout and wonderful write up! It is like taking a trip down memory lane.
How many years have you been working on it?
The shop area is a perfect size for what you are working on!

Lee
Thanks for the excellent layout pictures and especially the interesting commentary. A very high wow factor as well as the "sweat equity" in your accomplishment.
Nice
Being that today is my birthday,I would have to say thanks for a great birthday present.
Love your post and comment also Lee
Very impressive Lee, it looks great!
Really fantastic layout and pictorial. Clearly you've put in lots of love and labor into this and it shows!
Hi Lee,
Your layout is "Top Shelf" and shows excellent planning plus the cleverness that I would expect of a fellow engineer. Thanks for sharing your pride and joy with us. Your presentation is wonderful.
Looks great Lee. What's really nice is that you enjoy it so much and share your experiences.
Gerry
Very nice Lee, you also recovered well after using Simple Green to clean the Fastrack. Like the looks of the Atlas track. Nick
Lee, your work is always inspiring. I can go back time after time and say "Wow, look at that. That's really cool. I didn't notice that before".
Thanks for sharing.
Great Job Lee
Lee
well done and thanks for taking the time to post all these. As a fan of 77 Sunset Strip, that photo needed no captions. You got it right
Lee,
I am going to have to devote several hours studying all your dioramas. Did you scratchbuild your cathedral?
Everything is just magnificent! I also enjoy your keen sense of humor.
Who said that "art is a reflection of life?" Tee Hee!
Outstanding! Thank you for the great pictures and comments.
Lee,
I have enjoyed your comments in the past, your work on the Streets cars, Lt Columbo, and all. Now I see how it all ties together. Excellent photo tour! The only think I can think of to add is a William Conrad "Cannon" fly fishing too.
Lee
Well done really like the attention to detail

Yes, it is Williams. I discussed it in another thread. I had to: a) cut down the body, I cut 3/16 inch of height off the body, on top, and b) repaint the light gray a lighter gray. It matched okay as was, but is much better like this.
Lee, truly SPECTACULAR!
Your details of the RR are amazing, but the other activities with vehicles and boats are museum like. Thank you for taking the time to create a narration screen that describes each picture. You are very talented, Very cool stuff! Is there a video of the layout in action?
Lee,
Your Layout tells a story,I love it.
Mikey
Lee, it's one of the best!
LEE: Great lay-out I like how you integrated your other hobbies/passions with your trains. Great photo's and story line also.
Would love to see your lay-out live some day.
Love it, Lee.....my only question is .....where are Sgt. Joe Friday and Officer Bill Gannon? Just the facts, please!
Lee, What (other than Veranda Turbine) attracted all the detectives? Has there been a crime wave? There does not appear to be anything for all of them to do except for the arrest underway at Tacky Trailer Park. Pat B.
Very nice work, thanks for sharing.
Being a visitor to Lee's home and railroad, I can attest to the quality of his workmanship.

I think they are hanging around the layout to protect their cars. There are only a handful - Holmes, Wolfe, Hammer - who don't have a car - even Joe Friday and partner are there with their black unmarked police special. Many of these detectives like Morse, Bullitt, etc., cared alot for their car, and most of them don't trust me to take good care of their cars, so I think they hang out to look after them themselves.
And actually, San Beattadaise is rife with crime. In addition to the crimes at the trailer park, Friday and partner are downtown to check out the Polar XXX Press for possible obscenity charges - that is their black Ford in the last photo and they are on the sidewalk just behind it. Columbo is at the brewery because of the theft of the turkey on the employee Thanksgiving Day festival. Folye and his driver are arresting a black marketeer. Dagliesh and Barnaby (Midsomer) are cooperating, have a grisly murder with a corpse next to an empty hole in the ground where something was buried, with a trail of blood leading to some tire tracks by the side of the road. Inspector Nardone has uncovered smugglers hiding drugs in race-car tires, and there is a stakeout of the motel where alot of working girls - well . . . work . . . ,
That is a great layout. The amount of thought and multiple stories make it very special. Thanks for posting the pictures and descriptions!

Lee,
I enjoyed every picture and every narrative - very well done on both counts. And the layout and all the innovative details - of course, are simply great.
Thank you so much for taking the time to put this together to share with us.
Alex
